Henry sets another first!

The UK Sire of the Year is Panmure 1 Henry, a first for a sire resident in Northern Ireland.

Its been a great year for Henry, with his progeny dominating the show ring collecting enough points from qualifying shows to crown him Sire of the Year.

Spearheaded by Stella L2, Royal Ulster & National Champion & Female of the Year, Lawyer Reserve Male Champion Royal Ulster & National & Bull of the Year along with numerous other prize winners, see Show success page.

However, it was at the business end - in the sale ring, where Panmure 1 Henry’s progeny performed the best. His progeny sold for the highest prices at the three Northern Ireland Shows & Sales to crown him the N.I. Sire of the Year. At the Spring Show & Sale held at Hereford Market, three “Henry” sons sold for the top prices of 10,800, 10,500 & 8,200gns respectively and a daughter sold for the top price of 5,200gns

Another strong spring sale!

Milkyway a full brother to Kitkat sold to Wychnor herd with Lawyer, last years Joint NI Bull of the Year joining the  Bromham herd. Our other bull entries, Maverick stood second to Milkyway and sold for 6000gns to top commercial herd Spendlove bros. Mr Daffy was also a 1st prize winner and sold at 5400gns to H Richardson.

National Herd of the Year..again!

The Solpoll herd was named as the Top Herd in the UK when the results of the National Herd’s Competition were announced at the Hereford Cattle Society’s Annual Dinner. This is the first time the award has been retained in its history following up on our win in 2014. Further success followed that night when we were placed Reserve Sire of the Year with Henry and finished 3rd in Show herd of the Year. Solpoll 1 Gilbert was named Sire of the Year for a second time and his daughter Dendor 1 Lilac Wine was confirmed as the UK Female of the Year for 2016.
